Curated, not algorithmic
Every title is chosen by a human who actually read it β no endless feeds, just genuine recommendations.
Pageturn began in 2009 as one wobbly bookcase in the corner of a coffee shop, stocked entirely with novels our founder Cora couldn't stop pressing into customers' hands. People kept coming back β not for the coffee, but for the recommendations.
Fifteen years later we occupy a sunlit corner storefront with creaking floorboards, a reading nook by the window, and more than eight thousand carefully chosen titles. We've added a children's room, a stationery counter, and a monthly events calendar that has hosted everyone from debut poets to bestselling chefs.
What hasn't changed is the heart of it: real booksellers who read widely, shelve thoughtfully, and would genuinely rather sell you the right book than the most expensive one.
A few simple beliefs that shape what we stock and how we treat the people who walk through our door.
Every title is chosen by a human who actually read it β no endless feeds, just genuine recommendations.
We're proudly independent. A portion of every sale supports community literacy programmes nearby.
Recycled packaging, no plastic shrink-wrap, and a thriving second-hand shelf for pre-loved books.
We give debut authors prime front-table space and host first-time writers at our monthly readings.
Hand-tied gift wrap, personal notes, and a recommendation service for the reader who has everything.
The window nook, the cat, the slow afternoons β a bookshop should feel like somewhere you belong.
