Our story & our studio

Pirouette began with a simple belief: that the joy of dance belongs to everyone. Two decades on, that belief still shapes everything we do.

How it began

A home built for dancers

Pirouette opened in 2009 as a single rented studio with a borrowed barre and a big dream. Founder Elena Marchetti, a former company soloist, wanted to create the kind of place she'd longed for as a young dancer — rigorous, but never cold; ambitious, but always kind.

Today we welcome more than 900 dancers a year across four sprung-floor studios. From three-year-olds in their first ballet slippers to adults rediscovering movement, every dancer here is part of one supportive community. Our mission hasn't changed: to teach beautiful technique, nurture confident artists, and make every single class feel like coming home.
