Our Story

One family, one little churn, and a stubborn belief that ice cream should be made the honest way.

How it started

It began with one tiny churn in a garage.

Back in 2012, Mara and Theo Alvarez bought a second-hand ice cream churn and a crate of strawberries from the farmers' market down the street. They made a single batch for a neighborhood block party β€” and it disappeared in twenty minutes.

The next weekend they made three flavors. The weekend after that, there was a line out the driveway. A year later, the doors of the first Scoop shop opened on Sundae Lane, and we've been churning fresh every morning ever since.

  • Family-run and proudly independent since day one.
  • Every flavor still developed and tasted by hand.
  • Partnered with local dairy and fruit growers.
The made-fresh promise

Small batches, big difference.

We freeze in small amounts throughout the day rather than churning huge tubs once and storing them for weeks. Smaller batches mean less air, denser texture, and flavor that actually tastes like the thing it's named after.

Our base starts with local cream and cane sugar β€” never artificial stabilizers. Fruit goes in fresh, nuts are roasted in-house, and seasonal flavors follow whatever's ripe at the market that week.
