Our story
From a kitchen table to 40 countries
Lingua started in 2013 around a kitchen table in London, when two language teachers โ one from Madrid, one from Tokyo โ grew frustrated watching motivated students give up on apps and grammar books that never got them talking.
They opened one small classroom with one rule: students speak from day one. Word spread, teachers from around the world joined, and that single room grew into a global school of more than 120 native-speaking teachers reaching learners in over 40 countries.
Today we teach eight languages online and in person, but the heart of Lingua hasn't changed: small classes, real conversation, and the belief that a new language opens a whole new world.
