Our story

Founded by people who'd been failed by the process

LendWell started in 2014 when our founders — a former bank loan officer and a first-time buyer who'd been quoted three wildly different rates in one week — realized the mortgage process was stacked against the borrower. Banks pushed their own products. Comparison sites sold leads. Nobody actually worked for the person taking out the loan.

So we built the brokerage we wished existed: independent, fee-free to the borrower, and obsessed with getting people the right loan instead of the most profitable one. We connected to dozens of lenders, hired licensed officers who explain instead of upsell, and put the real numbers front and center.

A decade later we've funded $3.8 billion in home loans and helped more than 18,500 families into homes — but the founding rule hasn't changed: one dedicated loan officer, accountable to you, from first call to closing day.
