Our story
From late-night redlines to a better way
Lexa AI was founded in 2023 by a former general counsel and a pair of machine-learning engineers who were tired of watching skilled lawyers spend their evenings on first-pass contract review. They believed the routine work — spotting a missing indemnity, comparing a clause to the playbook, finding the right precedent — could be handled by software, freeing lawyers for the judgment only they can provide.
We built Lexa to be the assistant we wished we'd had: fast, grounded in your own standards, and honest about its sources. Every research answer cites the law, every risk flag explains itself, and nothing leaves your workspace.
Today Lexa supports more than 800 legal teams — from solo practitioners to enterprise departments — across 40+ jurisdictions. We're still guided by the founders' rule: the lawyer is always in control.
